Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel
Do you know that having a fixed mindset can inevitably stop you from getting what you want in life?
There is no doubt that as humans, we tend to listen so much to the voices in our heads.
Unfortunately, most of these voices send the wrong messages.
It tells us that we can’t do something, or that we don’t have the skills to achieve something.
It is called thoughts. And these kinds of thoughts, keeps us stuck, and is known as a fixed mindset.
For many years, I felt as if I was not good enough for the things I do today.
I had a terrible mindset about myself.
I thought, that I will not be able to speak in public because I felt I had English deficiencies due to my upbringing.
I felt that I won’t be able to write something meaningful for people to read and understand.
I felt that I was the worst person that could ever achieve a thing in life.
I had what we call inferiority complex, so much that I just kept away from people.
I guess I was totally wrong…………….. Yeah! I was.
Because I found out later on that it was because of my mindset, I had felt that way.
So, I began the routine of changing these things using these various mindset serial topics I have been talking about.
Today, I can tell you that, I do not only speak in public. But also, write speeches for people to use while speaking in public.
I teach people now on how to write great stories that can help them launch their products and services.
I have read so many books in a bid to change that mindset and it worked for me.
So, I think it will also work for you.
If you want to achieve success, you have to change the way you think and learn how to develop a growth mindset.
Here are some simple ways you can change your mindset to a growth mindset to allow you to increase your chances of finding success.
1. Turn Failures into Successes
Those with fixed mindsets have the habits of giving up quickly after experiencing failure for the first time.
Whereas, those who have found success, and have learned to develop a growth mindset, tend to look at their failures as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and try again.
Start changing your mindset today by learning to turn your failures into successes.
2. Change Your Limiting Beliefs
Myths or beliefs are a set of factors that prevents you from achieving success. For example, believing that it is wrong for a man to help his wife at home. This does not only destroy your relationship with your spouse but goes to put so much pressure on her and could lead to her death.
If you took a long look at your values and belief systems and compared them to what in them was keeping you back, you’d be able to start making adjustments.
If you can change your beliefs to support your goals, you’ll open yourself up to great things, and start achieving your goals and getting what you want.
3. Create Small and Manageable Goals
I have talked about this before. But to buttress the point here, you need to take a look at the goals that you’ve set for yourself and decide how you can best break them down into smaller, more manageable goals.
Every day take actionable steps to complete these smaller goals and start to chip away at them.
There are various applications online that can help you with this aspect.
For me I use Evernote and Trello. It works really fine.
Before you know it, you’ve made substantial progress toward achieving your larger goals.
There is a power to dividing things down into more manageable chunks and working toward them little by little.
4. Find a Mentor
I have come to learn this part and embraced it even more.
Today, I have at least 10 great mentors for every field of life pursuits I want to be successful with.
Late Jim Rohn once said, if you want to master anything in life, get a mentor.
Learn about it. Study it.
That’s very true.
Since I found out the secrets of mentorship, my life hasn’t been the same again.
This is not to insulate me from failure only, but to help me grow to a level I admire.
My mentors are the goals for me to grow.
In essence, to determine how to get what you want, find a mentor who has already succeeded.
Find a mentor who will be honest with you about your strengths and weaknesses, and who will be willing to let you shadow them.
Working with a mentor will allow you to learn essential skills through observation.
You can get the things you want in life.
You just have to utilize the right tools to achieve your goals.
By implementing any of these techniques in your life, you are changing your mindset toward getting what you want.
Be Great! Nothing Else Pays.
