5 Secrets of Goal Setting to Set Yourself Up For Success

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

If you want to find any success in your life, you need to set goals.

Without having goals for yourself, you will lack focus and direction in your life.

Not only do goals allow you to take control of your life, but they also provide you with the benchmarks for determining your success.

Setting a goal is the process that begins with your careful consideration of what you want to achieve and ends with you putting in the hard work to achieve it.

Here are five secrets of goal setting that will set you up for success.

1.    Set Goals that Motivate You

If you have limited interest in the outcome of your goals, or they are irrelevant to the bigger picture, your motivation to work on achieving them will be low.

Set goals related to the high priorities in your life.

It requires a commitment to achieve your goals, so to ensure you achieve success, you need to set specific goals that motivate you.

2.    Set SMART Goals

This, of course, is not new to many of us for the very long time it has been there.

The relevance is what matters.

So, for your goals to be powerful, they need to be SMART.

To increase your chances of success, your goals need to be:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Time-Bound

3.    Write Down Your Goals

When you physically write down your goal, it becomes real and tangible.

It eliminates any chance that you will forget about it.

Be sure to frame your goal statement positively to help increase the rate of retention. Post your goals someplace where you will see them every day as a constant reminder of what you want to achieve.

You could decide to put it everywhere you know you always find yourself during the day.

Your bedside, your door, your table, your kitchen. Just find it and put it there.

4.    Make an Action Plan

Often, we get so focused on the outcome of our goals, that we forget to create a plan of action for accomplishing them.

Take the time to write down the individual steps that you will need to take to achieve your goals.

As you complete each level, cross it off so you can visually see the progress that you are making.

It makes you remain focused and can be able to see clearly your progress.

5.    Stick with It

Goal setting is an ongoing activity, not merely a means to an end.

Keep yourself on track by creating reminders, and schedule regular blocks of time to sit down and review your goals and progress.

You want to make sure that the relevance, necessity, and value remain high as you work toward accomplishing your goals.

Setting goals are more than merely saying you want something to happen.

To find success, you need to clearly define exactly what you want and understand why you want it in the first place.

Implement these steps in all your goal setting endeavors and watch as you accomplish each one.

4 Ways to Set Your Mindset for Success

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

Hi, my name is Tim Abel and we are still on the mindset change series!

You can go over my social media handles, blog or YouTube page to watch the previous videos on this series so that you can be up to speed with what we are doing here.

Today, we shall be talking about the 4 ways to set your mindset for success.

If you’re struggling to find success and realize your dreams, the most likely reason is that you lack a mindset for success.

If you want to achieve your goals, you must work on developing a mindset for success. A successful, or growth mindset, is what sets apart those who have success and those who don’t.

You are the only person who can change your mindset to achieve success.

Here are four tips to help you get started.

1.    Learn To Create Successful Habits

It takes between 21 to 40 days to create a habit.

You have to start by making small changes in your daily routine.

Sit down and create a list of the things that you need to do to accomplish your goals.

For example: Exercising Daily, Eat Every Morning, Sleeping For At least 8 Hours A Day, etc.

Make sure that on a daily basis, you have to start taking small steps toward your goals.

The first step in setting your mindset for success is creating successful habits.

2.    You Must Understand Your Why

Changing your mindset takes work because the habits that we’ve formed aren’t easy to break.

Understanding your ‘why’ is about starting fresh and deciding on a single dream or goal, that when you accomplish it, it will mean a transformational change in your life.

It is essential to identify something that can make a significant impact in your life.

Once you determine your ‘why’ write down why it really matters to you.

Taking from the first successful habits to create as an example, we could down something like this. “It will make me become more productive”. Then go on to state how it matters for example. “If I am productive, I can achieve my life dreams and be financially buoyant to handle whatever I wish to have.

3.    Create a Vision for Your Life

To develop a success mindset, you have to stop looking at your past.

To see all the possibilities that lay before you, you have to start looking toward your future.

Think about all the possible ways you can live your life.

Envision what your perfect life looks like.

Having this vision of your future life will help to keep you moving forward during difficult times.

4.    Learn from Your Failures

All successful people, who have a growth mindset, are comfortable with failure.

They’ve learned to keep going no matter what.

When they hit a wall, they don’t make an excuse or give up because they realize that the only thing that is keeping them from reaching their goals is if they give up.

Unlike the majority of people, successful people have prepared themselves mentally for failure.

To do this, you have to permit yourself to fail.

Doing this will take the pressure off and keep you moving forward.

Changing your mindset for success doesn’t happen by accident. It is something that you chose.

These four tips will help you get started on setting your mindset for success.

Practical Ways On How to Cultivate a Positive Mindset

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

You may not know this, but your life is a reflection of your attitude.

Without even noticing, it can be easy to become negative and cynical towards the world.

With our continuous exposure to injustice and tragedy, we have begun to experience distress and heartache.

This negative attitude that you’ve developed is preventing you from thoroughly enjoying your life and has a significant impact on your environment.

To turn your gloomy outlook on life around, you need to develop positive habits and make adjustments to your mindset.

Here are three ways to you can begin to shift your mindset and change your life.

1.    Use Positive Words to Describe Your Life

The words that you chose have a ton of power over your life.

When you use negative words, like dull, chaotic, or mundane, to describe your life, that is how your mind will perceive your life, and you will start to feel the effects in your mind and body.

When you begin to switch to using positive words to describe your life, you will begin to see your life in a more positive light and start to find more enjoyment.

2.    Keep a Gratitude Journal

There are times when one single event can ruin your day.

Our mind tends to cling to the negative, overshadowing the positive aspects of our lives.

When you become aware of this propensity for hanging onto the negative, you can begin to intentionally focus on the positive aspects of your life to offset this imbalance.

You can do this by keeping a gratitude journal.

Finding things to be grateful for can increase your happiness significantly while protecting you from stress, anxiety, negativity, and depression.

3.    Reframe Your Challenges

You have to get into the frame of mind that there are no dead ends, only re-directions.

There are very few things in life that we have complete control over, so we have to consciously work to avoid letting the uncontrollable occurrences affect our lives.

We have to come to an understanding that the only thing that we can control is our reaction and effort.

When you give your full effort, you will have no reason for regret.

Embrace the challenges that are before you and stop trying to resist an experience for personal growth.

Stop allowing your negative mindset from preventing you from enjoying your life to the fullest.

Begin cultivating a positive mindset and change your life for good.

See you at the other side of the Growth Mindset as we walk together.

Be Great!!!

Achieve Success in Your Life by Changing Your Mindset

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

Do you know that having a fixed mindset can inevitably stop you from getting what you want in life?

There is no doubt that as humans, we tend to listen so much to the voices in our heads.

Unfortunately, most of these voices send the wrong messages.

It tells us that we can’t do something, or that we don’t have the skills to achieve something.

It is called thoughts. And these kinds of thoughts, keeps us stuck, and is known as a fixed mindset.

For many years, I felt as if I was not good enough for the things I do today.

I had a terrible mindset about myself.

I thought, that I will not be able to speak in public because I felt I had English deficiencies due to my upbringing.

I felt that I won’t be able to write something meaningful for people to read and understand.

I felt that I was the worst person that could ever achieve a thing in life.

I had what we call inferiority complex, so much that I just kept away from people.

I guess I was totally wrong…………….. Yeah! I was.

Because I found out later on that it was because of my mindset, I had felt that way.

So, I began the routine of changing these things using these various mindset serial topics I have been talking about.

Today, I can tell you that, I do not only speak in public. But also, write speeches for people to use while speaking in public.

I teach people now on how to write great stories that can help them launch their products and services.

I have read so many books in a bid to change that mindset and it worked for me.

So, I think it will also work for you.

If you want to achieve success, you have to change the way you think and learn how to develop a growth mindset.

Here are some simple ways you can change your mindset to a growth mindset to allow you to increase your chances of finding success.

1.    Turn Failures into Successes

Those with fixed mindsets have the habits of giving up quickly after experiencing failure for the first time.

Whereas, those who have found success, and have learned to develop a growth mindset, tend to look at their failures as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and try again.

Start changing your mindset today by learning to turn your failures into successes.

2.    Change Your Limiting Beliefs

Myths or beliefs are a set of factors that prevents you from achieving success. For example, believing that it is wrong for a man to help his wife at home. This does not only destroy your relationship with your spouse but goes to put so much pressure on her and could lead to her death.

If you took a long look at your values and belief systems and compared them to what in them was keeping you back, you’d be able to start making adjustments.

If you can change your beliefs to support your goals, you’ll open yourself up to great things, and start achieving your goals and getting what you want.

3.    Create Small and Manageable Goals

I have talked about this before. But to buttress the point here, you need to take a look at the goals that you’ve set for yourself and decide how you can best break them down into smaller, more manageable goals.

Every day take actionable steps to complete these smaller goals and start to chip away at them.

There are various applications online that can help you with this aspect.

For me I use Evernote and Trello. It works really fine.

Before you know it, you’ve made substantial progress toward achieving your larger goals.

There is a power to dividing things down into more manageable chunks and working toward them little by little.

4.    Find a Mentor

I have come to learn this part and embraced it even more.

Today, I have at least 10 great mentors for every field of life pursuits I want to be successful with.

Late Jim Rohn once said, if you want to master anything in life, get a mentor.

Learn about it. Study it.

That’s very true.

Since I found out the secrets of mentorship, my life hasn’t been the same again.

This is not to insulate me from failure only, but to help me grow to a level I admire.

My mentors are the goals for me to grow.

In essence, to determine how to get what you want, find a mentor who has already succeeded.

Find a mentor who will be honest with you about your strengths and weaknesses, and who will be willing to let you shadow them.

Working with a mentor will allow you to learn essential skills through observation.

You can get the things you want in life.

You just have to utilize the right tools to achieve your goals.

By implementing any of these techniques in your life, you are changing your mindset toward getting what you want.

Be Great! Nothing Else Pays.

Apply These 4 Ways To Change Your Negative Mindset

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

Recall we started this series by identifying the various signs that show your mindset is affecting your happiness.

Having drawn out the 4 Signs That Determines Whether It’s Time to Change Your Mindset Or Not.

In this series, we shall be talking about 4 important ways you can be able to top change a negative mindset.

Whether you believe it or not, human beings are naturally negative.

The problem with negativity is that it ends up limiting our accomplishments and the ability to move forward in our lives.

In order to change your mindset, you have to begin saying no to negativity.

Funny enough, most of us do not realize how negative we are in our daily lives.

I would like you to go over and watch my video on the 4 signs that show you are having a negative mindset.

So you can learn from it and become conscious.

That being said, I would like to show you the 4 ways you can apply to change your negative mindset and begin to achieve the things you really love to see in your lives.

And these 4 ways would require you as a person to become involved.

So, let’s go with it…

First Is To Always Set  Reasonable Goals

Many people who focus on the negative side of life, tend to put themselves down because they set unreasonable goals that are almost impossible to achieve.

This is not to say don’t set unimaginable goals. Why not?

But make sure to always break it down to smaller goals.

So, when you set smaller, more reasonable goals, you have a better chance of being successful in achieving them, and that goes on to motivate you to reach the next one.

So, always set reasonable goals to be able to have a Positive Mindset all the time.

The Next Is For You To Turn Problems into Challenges

Don’t always dwell on problems whenever you come across it.

It is a constant that problems will always exist. But how you react when it shows up will determine how your success plays out.

It is also important to state that words are potent.

If you often find yourself negatively describing your life, try creating a list of all the negative words you use throughout the day and replace them with more positive ones.

For example, if you are always complaining about your problems, start to refer to them as challenges instead.

This may seem like simple semantics, but the words you use on a daily basis can have a real effect on your attitude.

Then The Third Is One of The Best Things I Have Learnt In Recent Days Especially When I Had Issues and This Is It

Make Sure You Always Wake Up on the Right Side of the Bed

It doesn’t matter how you went to bed the previous nights.

When you first wake up, it can be easy to begin thinking about all the stuff that you need to accomplish that day or complain about how your kids, friends or spouse kept you up all night.

To get rid of this negativity, begin your day by asking yourself the following four questions.

  • What am I excited about yesterday? Just think and bring some smiles to your face.
  • Then ask yourself another question. What am I excited about today? Hopefully, you woke up healthy, your family is healthy. You have a loving spouse who you can always lean your shoulders on. Your kids are growing and doing exactly your wishes for their future. Just name it.

The fact is, the moment you can configure your mindset for positives, you will have no difficulty seeing them.

  • Then go on to ask yourself the third question.

Who can I encourage or serve today? This is particularly good for those with a heart to grow. Of course, you already know that greatness only comes when you are willing to serve.

So, it is easy as an employee, a career person, a businessman just name it. To know that your everyday life comes with serving people.

  • The last question to ask yourself is – What am I grateful for?

Listen, there is so much to be grateful for. Your past is a clear mirror of what you should be grateful for.

Your present situation is also enough to indicate how grateful you should be.

So, look deep and find as many as you can.

Taking the time to think about all that you have and all that you are excited about will completely change your outlook for the entire day.

Lastly, Reset Your Default Answer

People who are naturally negative tend to use no or impossible as their first response to anything new.

This is done in part to allow them the time to think about it before making a decision.

Unfortunately, they end up defending their original ‘no or impossible’ decision, even when they might not have to.

To combat this natural response, try saying “I’m not sure, or something like gives me a minute.”

Then try to find a reason to say yes, rather than no or impossible.

If you find that your life is surrounded by negativity, it is essential to take the necessary steps to eliminate it from your life.

Haven presented these 4 tips to you today, I hope you can start utilizing it to help you say no to negativity and change your mindset for success.

5 More Tips for Increasing Your Productivity

“Life is too complicated not to be orderly.” ~ Martha Stewart

It turns out, productivity is nothing more than a combination of intelligent planning and focused efforts and is something that everyone can improve.

Staying productive at home or work can be a challenge.

Every time the day ends, the odds are high that you aren’t completely satisfied with what you’ve accomplished.

Fortunately, you can continuously improve your productivity.

Here are some valuable tips for increasing your productivity so you can get more done.

Tip #1 – Seek Help and Delegate Tasks Accordingly

Everybody needs help from time to time to complete tasks throughout their day.

To get help to accomplish your larger tasks, you need to be able to trust those you are seeking help from to complete the work.

To ensure that they take your request seriously, you want to be sure to let them know the deadline for the completion of the task.

Tip #2 –Create To-Do Lists

You will always have tasks that are simple and ones that are complex.

To stay on top of your tasks, create to-do lists and track them using a task app, like Google Tasks, Evernotes, Trello etc.

With the larger tasks, break them up into more manageable tasks.

You may also want to consider putting a timer on your tasks so that you don’t lose your focus in completing other items on your to-do list.

Tip #3 – Take Breaks

If you spend more than eight to ten hours at a desk, without moving around much, you’ll find that you have much less energy.

The number of hours you work doesn’t measure productivity.

It is measured, instead, by how much you get done without sacrificing your health.

To keep your productivity levels up throughout the day, take small breaks and clear your mind.

Tip #4 – Eliminate Distractions

In the U.S. a recent study revealed that over 12.2 billion collective hours are being spent browsing social media every day.

If you find that you are falling behind on your tasks, then you should consider getting rid of your social media apps on your Smartphone.

Tip #5 – Set Ambitious, Yet Realistic Goals

If you can cross everything off your to-do list in one day, then you need to create more ambitious goals.

People that set higher goals tend to be more productive and more satisfied, than those with lower expectations.

Your goals have to be very specific, and you should write them down to ensure you stay on track.

Incorporating these tips into your routine can help you to increase your productivity. When you are more productive throughout the day, you can inevitably get more done.

I hope you’ve read other tips on productivity.

These Are 5 Ways To Help You Change from a Fixed Mindset to a Growth Mindset

Let’s Remind Ourselves That We Are Human – Your Morning Motivational Tonic With Tim Abel

Some of us have a very terrible habit and within us, we have concluded that it is only in another world that those habits can be discarded.

The good thing is that we know that these habits are really not helping us. In fact, to a large extent, we already know the repercussions but we just can’t help ourselves.

We obviously have a clear knowledge of the fact that a change in these habits will give us the best of feelings in our lives and will help us grow too.

While that seems to be a very difficult problem for many of us, In 2006, A Stanford professor and psychologist, Carol Dweck, published her book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.

In this book, she detailed the differences between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.

According to her, Individuals with a fixed mindset believe that they are born with talent, or they aren’t, and they seek to validate themselves.

Whereas, Individuals that possess a growth mindset, think that their ability comes from their efforts and focus on developing themselves.

If you have a difficult time sticking with good habits or learning new skills, it might be because you have a fixed mindset.

The good news is that with a few simple steps you can change your fixed mindset into a growth mindset to change your entire life for good.

Let’s take a look at these 5 Tips;

1.    Increase your Self Awareness

To change from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, you have to become acutely aware of your many talents, and fully comprehend your strengths and weaknesses. Ask others for feedback so you can learn what you need to focus on and areas of development.

2.    Look at Failure Differently

Experiencing failure provides you with the time to apply extra effort to improve your results significantly. Failure is what you do, and your new understanding is what you can learn from failure. It is important to remember that your failures do not define you as a human being.

3.    Create a New Compelling Belief

You can create a new compelling belief for your life by believing that your skills and talents can be honed if you just learn to apply it yourself. It is your consistent effort and enjoyment in your life that will illuminate your road to mastery.

4.    Commit Yourself to Continuous Learning

Decide to focus on your growth and learning continually. Start by asking more questions and being more curious about those you meet. Learn about the journey they’ve been on and what they can teach you.

5.    Embrace Challenges

Learn to embrace and excel at challenges. Understand that it is the challenges that you face during your life that help to propel you toward your goals.

Developing a growth mindset is all about learning to retake specific action time and time again.

Individuals with a growth mindset understand that no matter how far they fall, it is up to them to continue to get back up and start again.

Developing a growth mindset is going to take time.

A growth mindset is based on your eagerness and dedication to changing yourself and your most powerful beliefs.

If you want to lead an incredible life, you have to decide to change your mindset.

I hope these tips will help move you to your dream destinations. But it is without ensuring you are committed to the long and herculean task.

Hope to see you again soon.

Do have a brilliant day ahead.

Every good thing starts with an idea and a purpose.

But then, you need to be organized to be able to achieve these set goals.

My experience has taught me a lot that the only way I can help humanity, for now, is to share my ideas and concepts for the successes I’ve gained. Starting out broke and getting people to reject me was the reason behind how I discovered this model called the RCPR model for business development.

It centers around one thing. That’s SALES.

And by sales, it cuts across both online and offline methods.

I have used this to start from nothing and grow my various businesses.

Learn the exact purpose I have used and how I used it to start from nothing.
