Emotions play a very important role in the buying decisions of prospective customers and bring to success the sales of any product or services.
If you want to start a business, or maybe you’re already in business and you want to increase your sales, you can’t make any great impact with the results if you can’t roll into the heads and minds of your prospective customers the 4 A.P.E.S Factor.
But first, you need to know what these Factors are and how to apply them.
In case you are thinking it is about some baboons in the jungle, you are dearly wrong.
A.P.E.S is an acronym for the four major reasons that people buy things.
A – Appearance: This has to do with the looks or perceived status of the product or service. It has to really look good.
P – Performance: This relates to the efficiency of the product or service as it concerns its purpose or use.
E – Economy: Does it save the customer some money or does it prevent the customer from coming back to buy because the first one has gone bad or will it help increase income for the customer?
S – Safety: Are there chances that if the customer buys it, he or she won’t have to lose something else and be made to come back for another one or does it reduce the chances of the customer losing the product or service as well as the money spent?
All of these factors put together could be the deciding factor or even one alone can be the deciding factor when customers buy from you.
About a year ago, I had a reason to bring out my phone while having a conversation with another guy. Behold, after taking a look at his phone, I was forced to slip mine back into my pocket.
I observed his phone has a large screen and the features on it were wow!
So, I made my findings and a few weeks later headed to get that same phone from a store. At the store, I made further findings and found out that the performance was best to none. The storage was 64GB, which would allow me to do any kind of stuff and my phone would still remain at its speed. The Camera on the phone was one of the best as well. This didn’t stop there. The guy further informed me of the fact that I do not need an extra camera to do my recordings because the pixel for the phone can be compared to any great Camera. Jeez! That was again captivating. It means I would save some money right.
Then the last streak was when he told me I could recover my phone if it gets missing within a few hours. Also, the screen is so hard that it doesn’t just crack. But for more safety purpose since I have kids who would play with the phone, I should get a pouch and a screen saver.
All of these were great factors I took the decision to buy this phone.
Take a look again closely and you’d realize I had made my buying decisions from the emotions of these 4 APES factors.
